Healthy Lawncare Program

The purpose of a healthy lawncare program for environmental protection is to provide consumers with a lawn fertilizing program using fertilizers which meet the three criteria of slow release nitrogen, low or no phosphorus, and are free of pesticides.

The homeowner needs to incorporate healthy lawncare practices to support root growth and a thick healthy lawn that will naturally resist weeds, as weed control is not a part of this program. Homeowner practices include mowing high, bagging clippings, proper watering practices, and regular plug aeration.
